Additionally, we’ve enhanced our cleaning and sanitation practices and introduced new protocols to reduce handling and limit personal interactions. Feel free to ask any questions or share concerns. It’s recommended to start planning your home or office move with LXS Vanlines at least seven weeks before the big day. It may seem like plenty of time, but moving day can sneak up quickly. Don’t worry, our team at LXS Vanlines will help keep you organized. Our pre-move survey and moving toolkit are great resources to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Several factors come into play when choosing the best time to move with LXS Vanlines. It really depends on your personal planning preferences. Yes, there are certain items we don’t transport for safety reasons. Your LXS moving consultant can provide a detailed list, but in general, items like aerosols, flammable materials, cleaning agents, combustibles, perishables, plants, ammunition, and paints are considered unsafe for transport. We also recommend you carry any valuable items and important documents yourself, as these are not covered for loss or damage. If you have concerns, don’t hesitate to ask.

Yes, we ensure every piece of furniture is individually protected during your move. LXS Vanlines follows strict procedures when wrapping and safeguarding your belongings. Each furniture item is wrapped in a clean moving pad, and light-coloured upholstered pieces are shrink-wrapped in plastic for extra protection. Mattresses and box springs are either placed in plastic bags or custom-designed cartons.

Home Moving

This is an in-home evaluation where your LXS Vanlines team assesses your specific moving needs. Most importantly, it gives us a chance to meet in person. Your LXS representative will arrange a visit at your convenience to discuss the move and address any questions. This is your opportunity to show us everything you’re planning to move, even items tucked away in storage. This helps us offer an accurate estimate and tailor packing, logistics, and moving solutions to your situation.

Absolutely! LXS Vanlines is happy to assist with settling into your new home. We assign a destination agent to ensure everything is set up the way you want. They’ll manage any necessary third-party services, such as appliance reconnections, and handle unpacking any boxes packed by our team.

Yes, LXS Vanlines can disassemble and reassemble most types of furniture to ensure safe transport. However, some items, like waterbeds, may require special handling. If you choose to disassemble your furniture before our arrival, you’ll be responsible for reassembling it later (we suggest taking photos during disassembly). We also leave any items that are fixed to walls or ceilings untouched, as we take extra care with your property.

Certainly! Just let us know what appliances you need to move, and we’ll make sure the appropriate LXS expert is there to assist. Certain appliances, like washers, dryers, refrigerators with ice makers, and even items like grandfather clocks or pool tables, may need special preparation before the move. But don’t worry—your LXS consultant can arrange these services for you.

We understand how important pets are to your family. For long-distance moves, LXS Vanlines can arrange for your pets to be transported by air. We can also coordinate pick-up, delivery, and kennel services. Please note, pets cannot travel in a moving van. If you prefer handling the arrangements yourself, we recommend booking pet services at least three weeks ahead of your move.

Storage

There are many reasons why you might need short-term or long-term storage during your move. Many LXS Vanlines customers use storage when staging a home, downsizing, finalizing closing dates, or dealing with construction delays. We’re flexible—just let us know your needs!

Yes, your belongings are completely secure with LXS Vanlines storage solutions. Items are stored in private wooden vaults, kept separate from other customers’ belongings. Everything is blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped for protection. Only authorized staff have access to our bonded, permanently locked warehouses, which are monitored by a video surveillance system covering the warehouse, office, and exterior.

When using LXS Vanlines storage, be sure to keep any essential items with you. Your belongings will be safely stored in storage vaults at an LXS warehouse. If you need access to your storage vaults, there will be extra fee. If you’re packing your own items for storage, remember to use cartons and empty dressers, chests, and drawers before storing them.

It’s very unlikely. Every item stored with LXS Vanlines is ticketed and recorded for easy tracking, ensuring nothing gets lost.

LXS Vanlines offers self-storage units at multiple locations across Canada. It is best to check with one of our agents to see what we can offer specifically and where. We offer a range of unit sizes, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs.

LXS Vanlines provides commercial storage solutions as well. Our home delivery vehicles are equipped with tracking, so your customer service representative can monitor drivers’ locations and keep you updated. Additionally, all LXS home delivery drivers are reachable by cell phone for direct communication while en route.
